Prefabricated Durasteel Bus Shelters with photocell provide "Smart" lighting

July 24, 2007

New Photocell Shelters Provide Porta-King's Durasteel bus shelters feature optional photocell-activated, dusk-to-dawn lighting that never leaves people in the dark at shuttle stations, bus stops and other mass transit shelter locations.

Porta-King bus shelters arrive fully assembled and ready for installation at a prepared site. Typical site prep includes a new or existing concrete pad.  We recomend a 6" thick concrete slap but a deeper slab maybe needed depending on the frost line for the location the shelter will be installed.  Once the bus shelter is "powered up," the built-in photocell constantly monitors lighting conditions and automatically switches the weathertight fluorescent fixture on when illumination is not sufficient for the safety and security of users.

Prefabricated Durasteel bus shelter feature a structural, tubular steel framework and comes in a variety of tough acrylic finishes. Framework tubing is made of 2" X 2" X .120 AST A500 Grade B welded steel tubing. Optional features to address both form and function are availble.  Popular options include standing seam roofs and aluminum bench seats but countless other optional features are available to address the needs of each unique application.
