Modular Structures

The pre-engineered components utilized in all of our modular wall systems enables us to create a structure that provides our customer’s with all of the functionality of a conventionally built building with the many advantages associated with a modular design.

One of the biggest advantages, and the one most commonly sited by our customers, is the dramatically faster installation experienced when using our modular structures in comparison to conventional construction.  On average you can anticipate a 50% time savings when using our modular design for your construction project.  Faster construction has many advantages including less disruption to your daily business operations. Because there is no on-site fabrication there is less mess. This can be especially important in areas where dust and debris could interfere with sensitive manufacturing operations.

Less waste is also a factor during the manufacturing process.  Because our structure are designed and fabricated at our factory we can be much more efficient in raw materials usage in comparison to a site built structure.  This efficiency in utilization of materials to reduce waste is part of an overall sustainable design and could possibly be applied toward point totals in a LEED certified project.

that all of the components used in the construction our structures are pre-cut to size at our factory so that they will fit into a pre-determined layout design.  The design is then incorporated in a detailed set of installation instructions that includes layout drawings along with an illustrated parts list that identifies all of the building components that will be used to create the enclosure. 

Another advantage to using modular construction is that all of the materials purchased to construct your structure are reusable. If your space needs change, simply contact Porta-King and we’ll redesign your structure for free, even if no additional materials are required. Most of our customer will redesign one of our buildings at least once during the life of the structure. This is one of the greatest advantages to using one of our systems.  This flexibility to redesign and reuse materials would not be possible with a conventionally built structure.

We offer a wide array of wall panel compositions which enables us to address a wide range of application requirements.  These wall systems are available in either 1 ¾” or 3” panel thicknesses. Our 3” thick panel has been the most popular options for most of the buildings we manufacture. The wall systems used to construct our structures include an aluminum framing system that serves as both the connection method for wall panels and a chase to conceal electric and data wiring.
